Augmented reality is a limitless technology.  It’s an innovative and effective fit for almost all industries.  A great example can be seen in the recent election results in Austin, Texas.  An augmented reality app was created by a local company to help Lee Leffingwell, Mayor of Austin, Texas, win re-election. The free augmented reality app used in the campaign allowed voters to view the AR content, a 30-second 3D augmented reality advertisement by Leffingwell, by pointing their mobile devices at one of the candidate’s campaign mailers or a full-page print ad in the local Austin newspaper.

Statistics on the campaign results stated that the augmented reality outreach used by the mayor was well received amongst voters.  The use of augmented reality as a campaign communication tool gave Leffingwell a definitive edge against his rivals.  With 130 + million mobile phones currently capable of augmented reality, a receptive audience is already available.
